New York-based production studio COLLECTIVE, founded by Director David McNamara, is pleased to announce the addition of Reto Salimbeni, who is best known for lensing commercials and feature films that combine performance-driven storytelling with a distinct, art-directed style. His remarkable portfolio includes more than 500 commercials, including spots for IKEA, Panasonic, UEFA, Chevron, MTV, and Pepsi to name a few. His more than 50 international awards include the IAFF Cannes, the New York Film Festival, and the Art Directors Clubs in New York and various locations in Europe.
“Reto’s commercial style is very much in sync with the visual aesthetic here at COLLECTIVE, and his personality melds seamlessly with our core culture,” noted EP Ivy Dane. “At the same time, the genre of his work is distinct and able to inhabit its own space. We’re looking forward to what the future holds.”

While Salimbeni will specialize in advertising work for COLLECTIVE, he also brings a strong film resume, with work that has been shown in top festivals around the globe, including Cannes, Hollywood, Berlin, Barcelona, Miami and Palm Springs. In 2007, Salimbeni wrote and directed One Way, a provocative thriller/drama featuring an all-star cast and the director’s trademark combination of intense content and stylish visuals. Other film projects include 2002’s The Day I Was My Father, a family comedy which Salimbeni wrote and directed for German Studio Bavaria Films, and 1997’s Urban Safari.
