Lair is proud to announce the signing of Jory Hull, a director / designer / animator with a distinct vision and sophisticated technique. Hull is a long standing veteran of the motion design industry who began his career as a graphic designer in the print and advertising work before transiting to animation and film. Among Hull’s talents is a keen ability to mix graphic elements and distinctly human moments for maximum emotional impact. Hull has led a number of design teams as a creative director and has personally designed and directed countless commercials, music videos, title sequences, and major rebrandings of several TV networks. His client list includes Nike, Target, Coca Cola, HBO, Sony, McDonald’s, and Showtime, among others. About signing with Lair, Hull said, “I am excited to be a part of Lair and really focus on bringing an emotional element to beautiful and cutting edge VFX work, to prevent motion graphics from just being empty beauty. I am looking to do some challenging work that creates obstacles, because when there are obstacles, you know you’re doing something new.”
Lair owner Thor Raxlen added, “Jory is a fantastic addition to the Lair team, a director with an infectious passion for his work and a great creative energy.”

Hull has conceptualized, designed, and directed a number of network television branding projects, including a complete overhaul of the venerable PBS brand. Hull concepted and scripted a set of 16 spots, addressing the theme of everyday exploration, and photographed the corresponding print campaign. Hull’s design work for AMC broadcast a raw and irreverent attitude for the network, building on the success of programs like Mad Men to showcase the network’s new creative edge. Most recently Hull directed spots for Target’s progressive “Art for All” campaign, a sterling example of his talent for combining graphic design, human emotion, and sophisticated special effects.

Lair Head of Production Theresa Loguercio said, “Jory’s multifaceted approach to advertising is completely in sync with the Lair philosophy, and really where the most exciting creative work is happening. We are thrilled to be working with him!”

Hull is based in New York City. See the link to his reel: http://lair.wiredrive.com/l/p/?presentation=5b280efe589c3e08a4108b05f5c41517
