Baselight 4.2 means more creative tools, more control and more functionality for the industry's leading colour corrector
Baselight 4.2 enables Digital Dailies workflows by including far greater flexibility with audio, with support for per-shot audio from a variety of sources including embedded QuickTime, MXF and R3D.
Innovative advances in Baselight enable simple and efficient colour matching and geometric correction of Stereoscopic 3D source footage, before applying the full power of Baselight’s colour grading toolset simultaneously to both channels. This allows any Baselight suite to work on 3D projects just as effectively as 2D projects.
Baselight 4.2 gives even more advanced functionality, including the layer view to simplify navigation of complex stacks, enhancements to the Job Manager and Sequence Browser, and improvements to the Baselight keyers.
The new features and functionality of Baselight 4.2 hit the spot judging by early customer responses. Mick Vincent, Senior Colourist at The Mill, London, says, “It’s great to get my hands on Baselight 4.2. I get even more control and it speeds up a lot of repetitive tasks, allowing me to concentrate on the look.”
Steve Chapman, FilmLight’s Director of Development comments, “We’ve put a lot of development effort into Baselight 4.2, extending the capabilities across the whole of the product. Not just the breadth of features, but also in the depth of the functionality."
