Alex Hope, Double Negative’s Managing Director, says “We’ve admired the work Nathan and the team at Asylum did for a long time, and enjoyed the collaboration our two companies had in working on The Sorcerer’s Apprentice this year. We recognised kindred spirits during that process and were incredibly sad when we heard of its demise. We are so excited that Nathan is now joining Double Negative to creatively head up our operation in Singapore. Nathan’s enthusiasm and talent will assist us in continuing to grow the technical and creative capabilities of the company both in London and Singapore.”
Says McGuinness, “It’s an honour to be a part of the Double Negative team. I have a deep respect for Matt and Alex, they have independently built one of the leading VFX houses in the world and pulled together a team of visionaries that are unsurpassed in the industry. They, like I, believe in finding the best talent, treating them well and executing the best VFX. VFX has gone global and the opportunity to be a part of DNeg Singapore blew me away.”
McGuinness’s new role will still see him maintaining a regular presence in L.A., where he will continue to foster relationships with clients and help bring directors’ visions to life.
