Six Filmmaking Teams Compete in "Road to Park City" Contest to Win an AF100

Panasonic Solutions Company and Slamdance have teamed up to present Panasonic’s new AG-AF100 large imager HD cinema camcorder as the Official Camera of the Slamdance 2011 Film Festival, ongoing here January 21’27.
The two companies are partnering in an exclusive competition, “The Road to Park City,” in which selected Slamdance filmmakers will create one-minute films while at the festival, shot on the AF100, the industry’s first professional micro 4/3-inch video camcorder optimized for high-definition video recording. The winning team will take home the new camera.

Six film pitches were chosen and announced on January 10th. During the film festival, each of the six contestants will have a day to shoot his project with the AF100 provided, and will be responsible for delivering a one-minute edited film by Wednesday, January 26th. The six films will be screened at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th, and the winner will be announced and the filmmakers presented with an AF100 at the Slamdance 2011 closing awards ceremony.

Targeted at the film and video production communities, the AF100 delivers film-like shallow depth of field and the wider field of view of a large imager, with the flexibility and cost advantages of a growing line of professional quality, industry-standard micro 4/3-inch lenses, filters, and adapters. The full HD 1080/720 production camera offers superior video handling, native 1080/24p recording, variable frame rates, professional audio capabilities, and compatibility with SDHC and SDXC media.
