Seth Worley shows you how to use Particular, Colorista and more to give new life to the late TV show's menacing particle effect
Seth Worley, a filmmaker living in Nashville, Tennessee, entered ABC's "Ultimate Lost Fan Promo Contest" last year to honor the final season of the iconic TV show. The clip is pretty funny and, for a short spot starring the show's black smoke monster-now a lonely hedge fund manager-it has a lot of heart. It didn't win (nor, surprisingly, was it a finalist). For plug-in users, however, it is a master class in particle effects, and at the urging of Red Giant's Aharon Rabinowitz, Worley created a tutorial on how he put it all together.
Here, he walks you through how he used Red Giant plug-ins Key Correct, Magic Bullet Colorista II and Trapcode Particular, The Foundry's Camera Tracker and the Canon 5D to create the promo.
