Radium/Reel FX Composites a Narrative Space for Inspirational Music Video
It’s hard to be a teenaged girl. Pink’s music video for her song “F–in’ Perfect,” a departure from her brighter and more colorful work with director Dave Meyers, counsels beleaguered teens to consider the better future that awaits them as adults. Digital studio Radium/Reel FX handled VFX and other post duties in the clip, including using Maya to construct a room, with props, to be inhabited by the singer, who was shot on a green-screen set. Pink was composited into the room, along with narrative footage that appears to be projected on the walls. “By putting Pink in the middle of the projected/flashback space, we were able to give her a sense of being a guide and a storyteller,” said VFX supervisor Kevin Althans in a prepared statement.
