So here’s a nice little package of free effects, transitions and plug-ins that I totally missed a few weeks ago when it came down the tubes. CoreMeltFREE is a set of 33 plug-ins for Final Cut Pro, Motion and After Effects. It’s based on the popular CoreMelt set of plug-ins that have long been one of the better overall values when it comes to a complete effects package for FCP. I wrote a full review of the CoreMelt V2 package back in 2009 and the same package is just as useful today. The core effects in CoreMelt V2 are ones I return to time and time again.
You may have seen the announcement of the CoreMeltFREE package elsewhere on StudioDaily, but the rare event of a solid and FREE group of 33 effects is well worth mentioning again, especially as part of my Useful Tools for Editors series. A complete list of all 33 effects can be found on the CoreMeltFREE site as well as a link to the download. You can also click through and buy their full $399 package as well.
So what I’m wondering is this: Will CoreMelt have something new in store for users at NAB 2011? Since CoreMelt V2 is now two years old and this free release is still fresh, we’ll have to wait just under a week to see what’s coming next.
