Unveils 3D Technology Demo for After Effects Users

Imagineer Systems today announced its new product and partnership plans for NAB 2011 convention in Las Vegas, NV next week (April 11 – 14, 2011). In its booth #SL3327H in the Plug-In Pavilion, Imagineer Systems will showcase new versions of mocha and mocha Pro and unveil future technology demos of mocha AE. mocha Pro is the planar tracking, roto and removal tool that dramatically reduces the manual labor associated with visual effects and stereo conversion projects. The new release also greatly improves roto support for Nuke compositing workflow. A technology demonstration of mocha AE v3 will feature exciting new 3D layer and camera export support for After Effects users.
Imagineer Systems also announced that industry expert guests and partners will be delivering presentations throughout the week to showcase how mocha and mocha Pro are being leveraged by companies to enhance roto, VFX and 2D to 3D conversion workflows. Jeff Kalmus, VFX Supervisor of Hollywood based, ICO VFX, will demonstrate how mocha Pro has enabled his team to efficiently produce the high-quality rotoscoping that is the foundation of their feature film conversion process. The presentation will take place on Tuesday April 12th at 1:30 PM in the Imagineer Systems booth.

Master VFX trainer, Steve Wright, who has trained and consulted with the world’s largest VFX and stereo conversion facilities, will be delivering two mocha Pro training sessions per day at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Lightbeam Systems will be joining Imagineer’s NAB booth to showcase their powerful computing systems optimized for visual effects and 2k/4k compositing, running mocha Pro software. Lightbeam creates targeted solutions that are used heavily by companies such as IMAX, Autodesk, Bad Robot, and Warner Bros. Lightbeam has now added its targeted, focused approach in building workstations for Imagineer’s products.

“We’re coming to NAB 2011 to highlight one of the biggest accomplishments we’ve achieved since we created the planar tracker: mocha Pro,” said J-P Smith, CEO of Imagineer Systems. “2011 is quickly emerging as the year of stereo conversion, with mocha Pro increasingly being integrated as a central, driving tool set of these pipelines at some of the biggest, best known conversion houses in the industry such as: Technicolor, Digital Domain and ICO VFX. Our business has achieved record growth in 2011 as a result, and we’re here at NAB 2011 with friends and partners, such as Steve Wright, and ICO VFX, who are here demonstrating the custom stereo conversion pipeline they’ve created for their clients using mocha Pro.”

J-P continued, “Our strong partnerships also continue to thrive in 2011. Our relationship with Adobe continues, enabling their millions of CS5 users worldwide with access to mocha AE. We’ve also worked closely with our friends at The Foundry to ensure seamless integration between mocha Pro, mocha and Nuke. These relationships have yielded tremendous workflow gains for all our customers. We’re more excited than ever to debut mocha Pro to the NAB 2011 audience and show them first hand all the possibilities this ground-breaking new tool can bring in areas of motion tracking, rotoscoping, visual effects, and stereo conversions.”

mocha and mocha Pro have also gained recent notoriety as a result of the significant impact the planar tracker has made in the production of the Oscar-winning sensation, The Black Swan, The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2.
