A Useful Way to Move Beyond the Point Tracker
Here’s a short but extremely useful video tutorial, perfect for your next coffee break, on how to use the manual tracking feature in mocha. Mary Poplin, an LA-based CG and depth artist who is also a product specialist at Imagineer Systems, shows you how to manually adjust the surface track key frames in sequences with tricky paths. The scene in question features a pole in the foreground passing over a tracked screen, something a point tracker alone can’t handle smoothly. Poplin uses a combination of mocha’s auto and manual tracking to move through the occlusion and get the job done.
