Newest Addition Extends Range of Cooke's Popular High-End and Lower-Budget Options

Two signature lens line-ups from Cooke Optics are gaining flexibility on the long end of the spectrum with the addition of 135mm lenses to both the 5/i Prime and Panchro lens sets. The 5/i lenses are all T1.4 and feature an illuminated focus ring that eliminates the need for a special light to illuminate the lens barrel. The much less expensive Panchro lenses are T2.8, and are smaller and more lightweight than their T2.0 counterparts in the Cooke S4/i series.
The 5/i version, in particular, has been a long time coming – Cooke started taking orders in 2009. Cooke is showing the first working 135mm 5/i lens at IBC next month, and shipments to customers will begin sometime in 2012. The Panchro version, on the other hand, is slated to start shipping by the end of 2011.

Both of the new lenses are color-matched and calibrated to the rest of the Cooke line-up, and include Cooke’s /i technology, which outputs metadata about key lens attributes (focus distance, aperture, focal length, etc) for use in post. The new lenses will be on display at Cooke’s booth at IBC.
