VC100 Video Processor Now Selling for $19,995
Owners of VC80 and VC100 models who don’t have the full feature set detailed above can pay a flat fee of $3,000 for a software upgrade that will bring their equipment in line with the new standard capabilities.
The new standard configuration significantly simplifies the Teranex catalog. “With 55 different software and hardware options on the price list, [Teranex] customers were presented with thousands of combinations of product options,” said Blackmagic CEO Grant Petty in a prepared statement, calling the new, unified price point for one fully loaded model “more sustainable for the future.”
The move supports Blackmagic’s reputation as an aggressive, disruptive price competitor – the company bought DaVinci, then cut the price of DaVinci Resolve software to $995 and introduced Resolve Lite, a free, somewhat feature-limited but fully functional version of the color-grading tool.
