Imagineer Systems is doubling down on Mocha Pro. It was late 2010 when Imagineer consolidated its product line so that all of the features from different applications were available in a single product, dubbed Mocha Pro. With version 3, the non-"Pro" iteration of Mocha is going away, leaving just two different products in the Mocha line-up: Mocha Pro and Mocha AE. (A free version, Mocha AE CS5.5, is bundled with Adobe's Creative Suite and only exports tracking and roto data for After Effects..)
The new versions of Mocha Pro and AE are slated for availability as NAB kicks off on April 16. Pricing for the new versions has not been announced, but Imagineer said customers who purchase Mocha AE v2.5 or Mocha Pro v2.5 between now and then will be upgraded to v3 at no cost.
Features in the latest versions include new tools for creating and editing roto masks, new layer-management features, project management, and 3D camera tracking for After Effects and, in Mocha Pro only, FBX. Here's a video produced by Imagineer that previews the new tools and features.
