German video effects company proDAD announced today that its Mercalli V2 Pro video stabilizer and rolling-shutter plug-in now supports Windows versions of Avid Media Composer 5.x and 6.x and Symphony 6.x. Macintosh support will be coming shortly, the company says.

Andreas Huber, proDAD's managing director, said many of his customers using DSLR footage, where rolling-shutter can pose problems during an edit, had long requested Avid support. Sony licensed the Mercalli technology to embed it in Sony Vegas 11 and Avid also includes a version bundled with its consumer-level editing package, Avid Studio.
