Writer/Director Yusuke Inaba's black-and-white tone poem chronicles the detached life of a young man who works among mountains of boxes in a Yokohama wholesale market. The repetitive sounds, motion and tedium of his daily life take on new meaning when his absent father reappears toward the end of the film. The young Japanese director's film, in which he also stars, was recently screened by director Apichatpong Weerasethakul as part of his month-long residency at The Jacob Burns Film Center. Said Weerasethakul after the screening, "There is a kind of music that happens when the steady movements of this young man's life play out before our eyes."
