Digital Domain Productions said today that Jason Dowdeswell will head Vancouver-based productions, talent and teams, as well as lead collaboration with Digital Domain facilities in Venice, San Francisco, Florida, London, and Mumbai.
Dowdeswell's career prior to joining Digital Domain included two years as head of studio at Vancouver's Image Engine and eight years in the same position at CIS-Vancouver. The Vancouver native joined the VFX business in 1993 with a gig at Boss Film Studios.
"In just three years, our Vancouver studio has grown to become an absolutely integral piece of our global production pipeline," said Digital Domain's senior VP of global studio operations, Jody Madden. "Jason's experience, good humor and skill in building strong teams bring even more depth to our capabilities in Vancouver."
