Motion VFX, known for its Apple Motion templates, has just introduced mVintage, a new plug-in for Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5 that gives you quick and easy access to vintage looks.
You won't find the range of retro-style presets that have appeared in subsequent versions of Magic Bullet Looks or the finely tuned optical mimicry in Tiffen Dfx's filters, but for $89, mVintage actually gives you an unlimited set of looks and should save you a lot of time. The plug-in has an intuitive visual GUI that boils your choices down to color, film burn style and scratches in a few easy steps.
Szymon Masiak's pitch, which he shot on a RED One and Canon 5D MKII, is also not your average plug-in promo. You get the feeling he was aiming more for a Victoria's Secret commercial than for a dry tech demo. If you want to sell plug-ins in a crowded market, that's certainly one way to do it.
He's also got a nice tutorial on how to get started here.
