Thunderbolt Solutions to Get Top Billing
Sonnet Technologies will bring its new Echo Express SE 10GbE Adapter, which is bundled with the company's Echo Express SE Thunderbolt Expansion Chassis for PCI Express (PCIe) cards and Presto 10GbE two-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe card, at IBC in Amsterdam this September. Sonnet is touting the bundle's near plug-and-play ability to add 10GbE connectivity to any computer with a Thunderbolt port.
Small in size and compact enough for mobile or cramped studio conditions, the Echo Express lets users connect directly to high-speed networks and storage without compromising throughput.
The company says it is betting on Thunderbolt and is giving its Thunderbolt solutions "top billing" on the show floor (Stand 7.602). In addition to the Echo Express, Sonnet will be showing the Qio E3, a dedicated three-slot pro SxS media reader that was one of the first to be compatible with Thunderbolt, and Qio CF4, a Thunderbolt-compatible four-slot CF media reader.
Sonnet will also be showing its new Tempo SSD Pro, a PCIe 2.0 SATA card that lets you directly attach one or two solid-state drives (SSDs).
