New Plug-in for Deadline Render-Farm Software Automates Deliverables Generation

Thinkbox Software said Draft, a compositing and video-processing plug-in for the company's Deadline render-farm management software, will be shown at SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles next month.

Draft is designed to streamline workflow as deliverables are made by eliminating the need to create QuickTimes, thumbnails, and other production elements manually. "An artist can submit one render and get a dozen different deliverables pushed out automatically," said Thinkbox founder Chris Bond in a prepared statement.

The plug-in automatically converts renders into the different formats specified by users, along with processing any related images. Draft also generates slates using metadata imported by production management software like Shotgun. And users can customize it to fit their special needs through the Python API.
