New Genoma Character Rigging System and Python Scripting to Arrive in Next Version
LightWave 3D Group, a division of NewTek, has officially posted a set of new features coming to LightWave 11.5 later this year. Several of the new features are expected to be previewed during SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles next week.
Among the anticipated new tools are those for UV unwrapping, editing edges, new interactive place mesh and slice tools, and enhancements to the flocking particle system introduced in version 11. A new modular character rigging system code-named "Genoma," which works within LightWave Modeler, and the much-requested Python Scripting, will also make their debuts in 11.5.
Other enhancements include speed and workflow improvements across the board. The company says Instancing will get a major "power boost" in the next version due to customer demand.
