Director John Hillcoat's Lawless, which was nominated for the Palme D'Or at Cannes in May, features original music and a screenplay by singer-songwriter Nick Cave. Hillcoat directed Cave's freshman writing effort for Ghosts… of the Civil Dead (1988), and the pair collaborated again for The Proposition (2005). The highly anticipated adaptation of Matt Bondurant's historical novel The Wettest County in the World opens one week from today on August 29.
