New Break Out Box Features a Dual-Link 3 Gb/s SDI Four Times Faster Than a Regular HD-SDI Connection
Blackmagic Design made a lot of noise during IBC with the rollout of kit and variations on its now-shipping Cinema Camera. Among the company's many other introductions at the show was UltraStudio 4K, a Thunderbolt-driven single rack-mount capture and playback device that has enough throughput to handle true 4K playback—four times that of regular HD 1080 video. It is the latest entry in the company's UltraStudio line of break-out boxes.
In addition to full 4K support, UltraStudio 4K features dual-stream 3D capture/playback, 10bit hardware architecture, dual link 3 Gb/s SDI, support for up to 1080p60 in SDI, component analog and HDMI connections which support full SD, HD, and 4K. It is expected to ship in November for $1,295.
