The incomparable Allison Janney gives this walk-and-talk West Wing reunion spoof, actually a campaign ad, its gravitas and center. Michigan Supreme Court candidate Bridget Mary McCormack, sister of actress Mary McCormack (West Wing's Kate Harper), brought the entire cast together for this four-minute video scripted not by Sorkin but by veteran TV writer John Cockrell; producer/director Michael Morris (Smash, Brothers & Sisters), Bridget's brother-in-law and Mary's husband, helped with the edit. The video raises awareness of the often over-looked "non-partisan" section of November's election ballot where McCormack and other state judicial candidates appear. According to the Detroit Free Press, McCormack's campaign paid roughly $5,000 in insurance and incidental expenses to produce the video; the rest of the production costs were apparently donated by the cast and crew. Updated: The spot's DP and director was none other than Michael Mayers, the show's original DP.
