$30,000 C-Mount Camera Slated to Ship Next Month
Flovel Company Japan in Tokyo introduced the FZ-B1 high-sensitivity HD camera at IBC last month, claiming that it records in color by moonlight at resolutions up to 1080/59.94i.
The camera, aimed at surveillance, government, and wildlife video production markets, is said by the company to have low-light sensitivity of 0.01 lux. It records in 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/60p and 720/50p.
To minimize the unit's profile, the sensor module can be deployed without the camera housing. It takes C-mount lenses and has a starting list price of $30,000.
Another Flovel camera, the EM-120, was used for day and night observation of the Fukushima nuclear power plant from 30 kilometers after last year's earthquakes in Japan. The company is in development on an 8K camera.
FOR-A is the exclusive distributor of Flovel brand cameras in the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Africa, and sections of Asia. The FZ-B1 is slated to ship through FOR-A in November.
