Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the Post Company's First Videogame Project
Santa Monica post facility Company 3 said it is opening a new division, Company 3 Games, that will handle color-grading and other post services for videogames.
Company 3 President and Founder Stefan Sonnenfeld worked with game developer Treyarch to color-grade Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which will be released by Activision Publishing next week.
"The creation of Company 3 Games represents a new level of collaboration between game developers as well as publishers and providers of feature-film-level post services," said Sonnenfeld in a prepared statement.
The new division will be run by Malte Wagener, Company 3's new VP of Games, who comes to Company 3 from a position as director of global business development for Koch Media in Germany. Wagener suggested high-end post-production specialists from the feature-film industry are a good fit for crossing over to work on high-end videogame titles. "A tight collaboration of the two spheres is a natural development," he said in a statement.
