Composer Alexander Khaskin collected an array of culturally inflected sounds for World Turning, a release from Gene Michael Productions division Reserve Music.
The disc includes 30 cuts running nearly 72 minutes. Tracks include the imposing "Motherland," the evocative "Paris in Spring," the stomping Celtic track "Letterkenny," and the clamorous, frenzied "Flipping My Yamaka."
Fun fact: Khaskin is a Russian-born musician who emigrated to Canada in 1993 and became a Canadian citizen in 1996. His feature-film work includes werewolf sequel Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning, the Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle Replicant, and the Hong Kong action film Fulltime Killer, directed by Johnny To and Wai Ka-Fai.
