Location Houses 22-Seat DI Theater, Three Grading and Finishing Suites
Color-grading facility Colorflow opened a new 7500-square-foot studio with three grading and finishing suites and a DCI-compliant 22-seat DI theater at the Saul Zaentz Media Center in Berkeley, CA.
The main DI-grading theater was originally built as the Jacobs Theatre. Under the Colorflow banner, it now houses a 2K Christie digital cinema projector, a 20-foot screen, and an Autodesk Lustre system. The three finishing suites are powered by Assimilate Scratch, Autodesk Smoke, and Blackmagic Da Vinci Resolve. A high-speed fiber-optic network links up the file-based infrastructure.
Colorflow staff includes Lead Colorist Kent Pritchett and Senior Colorists David Lortsher and Gary Coates, DI Supervisor Alexander MacLean, and Managing Director Alexander Black.
Among the company's recent projects are the suspense thriller Heatstroke from Bold Films and the 2013 Sundance documentary A River Changes Course.
