Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Veteran Will Be Senior VFX Supervisor and Compositing Supervisor for Features and Spots
Gravity named Alex Lemke its new senior VFX supervisor and compositing supervisor for films and commercials.
Lemke was previously at Framestore, where he worked for Joel and Ethan Coen as VFX supervisor for Inside Llewyn Davis, and for director David Chase as compositing supervisor on Not Fade Away. Lemke spent three years working at Weta Digital in New Zealand, where he contributed FX to all three Lord of the Rings films and earned a Visual Effects Society Award for his compositing work on The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Also on his VFX resume are Sweeney Todd, 2012, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Dark City.
In the mid 2000s, he established Europe's first masters program in digital compositing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
