Director Evan Viera and animation supervisor Chris Bishop co-wrote "Caldera," a multi-award-winning animated short film, produced at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, about a young girl experiencing an "ambiguous reality." The fantastic imagery may recall the work of Hayao Miyazaki, but Viera says the film was inspired by his father's struggle with mental illness.
