Promises to Debut Version 3.0 of the Widely Used 3D Rendering Engine
Wednesday is "V-Ray Day" at SIGGRAPH. That's according to Chaos Group, which plans to give attendees six hours' worth of V-Ray presentations, including a "sneak preview" of the forthcoming version 3.0.
V-Ray Day will take place over two three-hour sessions in room 203A at the Anaheim Convention Center. One will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will include presentations by personnel from Pixomondo, Blur Studio, Method Studios, Scanline VFX, and ILM, and the second starts at 3:30 p.m. and features Pixomondo, Blur Studio, Digital Domain, and Zoic Studios. The Chaos Group website has more information, plus a registration page for one or both sessions.
Elsewhere at SIGGRAPH, Chaos Group will preview V-Ray 3.0 on the show floor at booth #110, which it shares with Trinity3D, and two Birds of a Feather sessions on July 22 will look at technical aspects of V-Ray 3.0, including support for deep compositing and the Open Shading Language.
Finally, a post-show V-Ray user event is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on July 26 at The Gnomon School of Visual Effects at 1015 N. Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood.
