Facilis Technology this month released TerraBlock 6.0, the new version of its shared-storage system. First introduced at last year's IBC, v6.0 includes LDAP support and Active Directory synchronization for user account management through group access permissions; on-the-fly volume size reduction; a new customizable GUI with flexible layouts and the ability to limit the amount of information provided to users; and Adobe Anywhere for video project-collaboration support.
The company is promoting TerraBlock 6.0 as a flexible post-production solution for everything from compressed HD editorial to 4K finishing work, depending upon the system configuration, with seamless project sharing and multistream camera-raw playback for ARRI, F65, and Red Epic. It's qualified for Avid Media Composer 7 and Pro Tools 11, Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 10, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Maxon Cinema 4D r15. It also supports Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks), and multi-user write volumes are qualified as SAN locations for Final Cut Pro X 10.1 libraries.
The v6.0 software is a free update for TerraBlock customers with a current support contract.
Coming soon is SyncBlock 2.0, an update of the archiving and backup solution designed to work seamlessly with TerraBlock systems that Facilis launched at the end of 2012. The new version is set to enable improved archive management, tiered storage automation, and LTO-6 support.
