Ever wonder what the massive pilgrimage to New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve looks like far above the crowds? The Timelapse Group navigated the challenging security surrounding the yearly event and recorded a thrilling timelapse sequence from two hotel locations. Shot with a combination of Canon 5D MK IIIs, 7Ds, 60Ds, T4is, T3is and Red Epics—as well as Canon and Zeiss lenses—the project includes tilt-shift perspectives (captured in camera with Canon's 24mm Tilt Shift II lens) and more than 18,000 still frames shot over 12 hours. The Timelapse Group's Noel Cordero, Brandon Cotter and Hector Arrivillaga also shot regular video and slo-mo of the ball drop for a package aimed at promoting the event for next year.
