Visual effects supervisor Everett Burrell has joined Shade VFX (Santa Monica, CA, and New York City). Formerly a VFX supervisor at Look Effects in Los Angeles, Burrell will work on feature and TV projects, reporting to company CEO Bryan Godwin.
Burrell's recent credits include Warm Bodies, Prometheus, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. He formed the special makeup effects company Optic Nerve with John Vulich in 1989 and later moved into digital effects at Flat Earth and Café FX.
"His talent, creativity and on-set supervision experience and production skills will be a gigantic plus for both our clients and our artistic team," said Godwin in a prepared statement.
Shade VFX went bicoastal in March, when it opened a Manhattan studio at 475 Park Avenue South. The company said Burrell will work from both locations.
