Founders Include EP LaRue Anderson and Colorists Steve Rodriguez and Shane Reed
Veterans of The Mill and Company 3 have opened Apache Digital, a Santa Monica boutique specializing in color grading for spots.
The new facility with its two dedicated color suites will be run by Executive Producer and Managing Director LaRue Anderson, a former EP at The Mill. Also on board are senior colorists and co-founding partners Steve Rodriguez and Shane Reed.
"Apache has the distinction of being exclusively a color company and not a post house with color or a VFX house with color," Anderson said in a prepared statement. "Color is our focus and not an added service or afterthought that simply gets bundled and lost in a total post-production package deal."
Rodriguez is relocating from Tokyo, where he spent the last two years as senior colorist at Cutters. Before that, he had been at Cinelicious and Riot following 13 years at Company 3. Reed comes to Apache from The Mill, and does double duty as the creator of CineGrain. You can see their work at the Apache website.
