What happens when you mix an Antelope with a FishFace? Not another oddball hybrid out of Splice, but something just as cool and much more practical: underwater slo-mo.

Polecam has just launched a new remote head lightweight jib arm fitted with a version of its popular FishFace waterproof housing, initially created for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, redesigned to accomodate partner Antelope's Pico Ultra Slow Motion minicam. The rig will let shooters record HD streaming ultra slow motion at 350 fps under water at aquatic sporting events or in the field for nature documentaries, dramatically extending the viewing experience. The Antelope Pico camera system records to a 2/3-inch CMOS 2K chip and features a real-time deflickering technology that helps eliminates flicker.

The instant replay of ultra slow motion, or ultra, as it is commonly known, is used throughout sporting events to make official judgements on a variety of shots, actions, points and finishes, as well as during training to analyze form. With the two-year wind up to the 2016 Summer Games in Rio di Janeiro now underway, Polecam is also aiming the new rig at competitive swimming and diving teams and clubs.
