Sounddogs.com in Los Angeles, CA, has acquired the library assets and marks of the defunct Todd-Soundelux in bankruptcy court, according to Rob Nokes, president and founder of Sounddogs. The transaction includes the Soundelux sound-effects library as well as The Hollywood Edge, an affiliated sound-effects library.
Sounddogs President Rob Nokes told Studio he is tentatively looking for a partner or buyer to operate The Hollywood Edge as a separate business, but plans to incorporate the Soundelux library into the Sounddogs.com library.
"The Todd-Soundelux library is the loudest and greatest sound effects library on the planet," Nokes said.
According to papers filed with the U.S. bankruptcy court in Los Angeles, Sound Ideas in Richmond Hill, Ontario, had placed a stalking-horse bid of $500,000 cash for the assets last month.
