Facility Expands to Take on Netflix Superhero Series Daredevil
Shade VFX hired visual effects producer Camille Geier to work out of the company's New York office, which is expanding to handle a workload that now includes the upcoming Netflix series Daredevil.
The Santa Monica-based company's New York facility opened in 2014 and now increases its footprint from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet, with more than 25 artists in place. "I was quite amazed at the amount and caliber of work they were doing when I first visited the studio," said Geier in a prepared statement. "The creativity and level of competence was very evident and I knew I could fit in and help them with any challenges during this expansion period."
Geier joins Shade from Rodeo FX. Before that, she was at Curious Pictures, Gravity (formerly Rhinofx), and ILM. She will be in charge of all work taking place in the New York studio, including Daredevil as well as an untitled pilot for AMC. Recent work in New York included the four-hour HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge.
