The evocatively named Stink, representing commercial directors including John Hillcoat, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Martin Krejci, has opened its first U.S. office in Los Angeles.
Jeff Baron departs a nearly-13-year gig at Anonymous Content to become Stink's managing director in the U.S. He will be joined there by Executive Producer James Cunningham, who is moving to L.A. from Stink's London base. "The opportunity to work with a global brand like Stink along with the level of talent it represents was something I couldn't pass up," Baron said in a prepared statement. "The production model is changing, and Stink represents that evolution. I look forward to bringing my live-action experience to this new U.S. entity and combining it with the other elements of production, from digital to branded content to longform and beyond."
At the same time, interactive production company Stinkdigital will expand from New York to the west coast, where it will share offices with Stink U.S.A. Executive Producer Iliana Espineira will be in charge of Stinkdigital in L.A., aiming to provide an integrated slate of Stink services including production as well as interactive design and related disciplines.
Founded in London in 1998, Stink now has a presence in Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Shanghai, and Sao Paulo in addition to its New York and Los Angeles operations.
