Pan-and-Tilt Head for Studio/OB Cameras Will Support a Heavy Payload Between 55 and 210 Pounds
Cartoni is debuting the Magnum pan-and-tilt fluid head at NAB. Billed as the company's highest-capacity product to date, the Magnum supports a payload between 55 and 210 pounds.
The Magnum is being aimed at studio operations and outside broadcast cameras that use extremely long lenses, seven-inch viewfinders, teleprompters, and other heavy accessories. "Magnum is designed to handle big box cameras with big lenses," said National Sales Manager David Butler in a prepared statement. "It maintains stability through zooms of 400 to 500 feet or more."
Cartoni said variable fluid control kobs and the counterbalance operating knob are connected to a digital readout on the rear of the head allowing quick set-up even in the dark. The Magnum interfaces with any Mitchell or 150mm bowl base, the company said, and can be easily mounted on top of existing pedestals featuring four-hole bores.
