The Vitec Group added Paralinx, maker of the Arrow HDMI video transmitter, to its portfolio of brands. Paralinx will be part of Vitex Videocom's Creative Colutions unit.
Launched in 2012, the Arrow allows uncompressed 1080p video to be transmitted from a camera's HDMI output to a small field monitor with a claimed 2 ms latency over a range of up to 320 feet line-of-sight or up to 200 feet through walls.
"Like Teradek and Small HD, Paralinx is another great example of the pioneering spirit that is so important to disrupting the professional video industry with game-changing products and top-notch customer support, said Vitec Videocom CEO Matt Danilowicz in a prepared statement that suggested Paralinx and Teradek would collaborate on next-generation versions of their technology, with Paralinx concentrating on independent content creation and drone-flight applications and Teradek focusing on systems for cinema and television production.
