Aspera, FileCatalyst, YouTube and More Can Be Configured As Remote Sites
The latest update to AlterMedia's Studio Suite Xi will integrate the production-management software with the Aspera and FileCatalyst file-transfer technologies, as well as enable direct delivery to Facebook, YouTube and Wistia platforms.
To enable the new features, users will use the "API Setup" screen within Studio Suite's configuration tools to create new remote sites, saving information that will allow the system to access their accounts with the various services. The software can be configured to query each of the enabled destinations on a nightly basis to compile usage statistics that will be displayed to users on demand. Charts can be filtered by date range and exported for later review.

We asked Stoner whether other services may eventually be added to the program and he said plans are already under way to add support for Signiant—if not in this version, then in the next one. "We'll see what the demand is after that," he told StudioDaily. "Those three high-speed file delivery companies [Aspera, FileCatalyst and Signiant] and Facebook, YouTube and Wistia are the most common delivery platforms, so we'll start there."
Another feature due in the next version of Studio Suite Xi is Task Timers, which add a basic "timer mode" to the software that allows users to clock in and out in order to track hours logged on a given project.
The new features were announced at NAB and are expected to be upgraded for users soon — perhaps as soon as next week, Stoner said.
