Prime Focus World and Double Negative are planning a new VFX facility in Mumbai's Film City, the epicenter of Bollywood filmmaking. The new studio will be modeled on Double Negative's existing facilities and infrastructure in London, Vancouver, and Singapore.
The two companies announced their merger last summer, with the new combined VFX business running under the guidance of Double Negative's managing director, Alex Hope, and CEO, Matthew Holben.
"This collaboration plays to the strengths of both companies, the intention being to create a world-class VFX facility that can proudly sit alongside the rest of Dneg's global network," said Holben in a prepared statement.
Shows completed under the merged companies include Avengers: Age of Ultron, Terminator: Genisys, and Ant-Man. Current projects include The Huntsman, Inferno, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Insurgent, Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, Tarzan, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Spectre.
