Journalist-turned-TV-producer David Simon (The Wire) has a new six-hour HBO miniseries directed by Paul Haggis (Crash) that premieres August 16. Show Me a Hero is adapted from the nonfiction book of the same name about desegregation in Yonkers, NY, in the late 1980s under then-mayor Nick Wasicsko (Oscar Isaac)—at that time the youngest mayor in America. The cinematographer is Andrij Parekh (Half Nelson, Blue Valentine).
