First 50 Schools with Media Arts Departments or Audio Programs to Apply Can Access Online Archive for Free this Fall
Brooklyn-based Pro Sound Effects is offering the first 50 schools to apply by September 15 free unlimited access to 50,000 of its royalty-free sound effects for use in their non-commercial films, videos, audio productions, apps or other creative projects during the fall semester. Intended for schools with media arts departments or audio production programs, the 50 semester scholarships, as Pro Sound Effects founder and president Douglas Price calls them, includes free set up and will be awarded upon approval. Schools accepted for the program have the option of continuing full-year access for their students by purchasing additional semester licenses.
Already in use at Elon University, George Mason University and The Art Institutes, Pro Sound Effects' continually updated library of sound effects run the gamut from ambiances to animals, technology and warfare. The free access will also allow students to create and share their projects and playlists with an unlimited number of other students.
