New Products Include Red Mini-Mag Media Reader, USB 3.0 Dock and FireWire Adapter
G-Technology has announced four new products in its Evolution Series line-up, including a new eight-bay Thunderbolt 2 RAID with ev Series bay adapters, a Red Mini-Mag reader, a new USB 3.0 docking station for shared working environments, and a FireWire 800 adapter.
A new version of the G-Speed Studio XL ships with two of its eight bays filled with integrated ev Series Bay Adapters that accept ev Series drive modules, allowing G-Drives in use out in the field to be plugged immediately into the bigger array when they arrive back at the studio.
It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 with data transfer reaching speeds of up to 1,200 MB/sec. It's scheduled to ship in October, starting at $2,800 for the 18 TB configuration and scaling up to $5,000 for a 48 TB version.
The ev Series Reader Red Mini-Mag Edition allows content to be transferred from Red Mini-Mag media cards to G-Dock ev docking stations or the G-Speed Studio XL above. It's coming in October at a suggested retail price of $200.
The G-Dock ev Solo is a straightforward USB 3.0 dock for G-Drive ev modules, with a data transfer rate of up to 400 MB/sec. It's expected in October for $99.95.
And the ev Series FireWire adapter makes the Evolution line of drives FireWire compatible with two FireWire 800 ports. It's available now for $50.
The new G-Technology products will be on display at IBC in Hall 7 at Stand 7.J31 next week.
