Lifetime is staffing up in production — noted indie-film producer Sebastian Dungan has been named VP of original movies at the cable channel. Dungan will be in charge of development and production of Lifetime Original Movies, reporting to SVP of Original Movies Tanya Lopez.
"Sebastian's strong background in the independent feature world will bring an added and important perspective to our department as we continue to broaden the scope of our longform projects," said Lopez in a prepared statement.
Dungan was a founding partner at 72 Productions, where he produced Afternoon Delight, the debut feature by writer-director Jill Soloway, and director Jacob Kornbluth's documentary Inequality for All. Dundan was also a producer of Transamerica, directed by Duncan Tucker.
