Utah Scientific is shipping its new UHD-12G digital routing switcher, an enterprise-class router that distributes SDI video signals at data rates up to 2160p60 via a single-link interconnect.
The new router is compliant with SMPTE ST 2081 and ST 2082 standards (for 6G and 12G SDI, respectively) and is compatible with other Utah Scientific products, including its SC-4, SC-40 and SC-400 routing control systems, the company said.
"Previously, [broadcasters] would have had to process 4K signals through multiple paths using a traditional 3G routing switcher," said Utah Scientific CTO Jeff Levie in a prepared statement. "But the UHD-12G is able to receive, route and distribute SDI signals up to the latest 4K/60 standards on a single cable."
The UHD-12G is available in 32×32, 144×144 and 288×288 frame configurations.
