Aimed at Mid-Size Studios, G-Rack 12 Has Capacity Up to 120 TB via 3.5-Inch HGST Enterprise Drives
G-Technology entered the NAS market at NAB with the new G-Rack 12, a 12-bay server with capacity ranging from 48 TB up to 120 TB.
Aimed at small-to-mid-size facilities using Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X and Avid Media Composer for editorial, the system employs four 10GigE connections for high-speed data transfer. It has dual Intel Xeon E5 Haswell V3 six-core processors and 128 GB of physical memory and uses the Btrfs file system.
The G-Rack uses 3.5-inch enterprise drives from G-Technology parent HGST, and an optional expansion chassis can be employed to add another 120 TB to the system.
No pricing or availability was announced for G-Rack, which is marked as "coming soon" on G-Technology's website.
