AJA said it is now shipping the Kona IP ($2,495), an eight-lane PCIe video capture card with 10 GigE connectivity announced at NAB in April.
At launch, Kona IP supports SMPTE 2022-6 IP-encapsulated uncompressed 3G-SDI video, and support for compressed video and other IP protocols is scheduled for future updates. An HDMI output is provided for monitoring. For more on Kona IP, see our previous coverage.
Additionally, AJA updated its desktop software for Kona, Io and T-TAP products to v12.4, now including support for the Adobe Creative Cloud software updates, Avid Media Composer 8.5.3, and updates to Avid DNxHR support. The new software version is available as a free download.
