Automatic Duck, the plugin maker that reconstituted itself last year after a four-year hiatus, is in the swim again with Xsend Motion, a new tool for converting XML output from Apple Final Cut Pro X to an Apple Motion 5 project.
Xsend Motion can be used with XML exports from FCP X 10.2.1 or later, or directly from the FCP X Share menu. The resulting Motion project utilizes the same media files as Final Cut Pro rather than making new copies.
It can correctly read and translate clip transforms such as position and scale, opacity and blending modes, speed changes, and the effects of certain third-party filters (including Colorista 3 and Magic Bullet Looks) for Motion. For a more complete look at what does and doesn't translate, have a look at the user guide.
